Annexation of Guanacaste,
Every 25th of July in the city of Liberia, is revived with a massive participation of schools and colleges, on the occasion of the commemoration of the anniversary of the Annexation of Nicoya to the Commonwealth of Costa Rica.
Thousands and thousands of people witness along the Avenue July 25 the passage of carriages, horses, wagons, marimbas and a whole host of old-style performances. There is also a cattle fair,bullfights and concerts.
