RÍO CELESTE WALK

We go to Río Celeste, an hour of Liberia, is one of the wonderful places in which we observe wildlife. The legend says, that after God painted the sky, washed the brushes in this river.
Is an ideal place for the person who loves the nature, located in the National Park Tenorio. As we move forward we look at the lush vegetation, animals and the singing of birds present during the walk along the paths leading to the river and its wonders.

The route has many attractions, as each one represents a different experience. Everything is marked.

The teñideros, the bubbling, the viewpoint, lagoon, hot springs and waterfall. All visited in one day. Of course, there is a long walk, and having enough energy and strength in the legs to raise the return, but worth it all.

The teñideros are two stream of crystalline water, in combination with volcanic minerals produce this spectacular deep blue color of the river.

Here you see the difference between natural waters of the river and stained moving downstream.

The thermal waters of the river are areas that receive an influx of heat and volcanic minerals and remain at warm temperatures to the delight of swimmers, a mandatory rest-

The viewpoint is a platform built in a clearing-facing Tenorio Volcano and allows us to enjoy it in all its splendor, besides giving us a chance to rest.

The lagoon is a heavenly haven, and is perhaps the place where it becaomes more obvious visual and olfactory, the essence of the river.
Due to lack of movement we can admire its color, a deep blue and smell of its components.
For lack of reaction that may cause these wateres to humans, is prohibited bathing in the lagoon

The Bubbling

The waterfall is a stunning song of water falling into a pool blue, surrounded by greenery and large river stones, where as always noticed, it is best not to bathe, let alon stan under the waterfall.
While cataract is one of the first shows to be accessed during the journey, experts advise of last visit for both, the descent and the ascent to it are quite steep and if the first visit energies can be depleted before to see the rest.

If you want to do the walk, we recommend you wear comfortable clothing preferably waterproof, special tennis shoes or hiking, insect repellent (not forget), bathing suit and very important water or sports drink

The trip provides us the opportunity to appreciate the wonders geothermal Rincon de la Vieja, also allows a close look at a forest with many years old.

We arrived at the park after 45 minutes from Liberia, of course we came well prepared for walking, comfortable shoes, hat, binoculars, camera, sunscreen, insect repellent (very important), water and rainwear just in case.

Walk about 2 hours. During this walk we saw huge trees, waterfalls, monkeys, toucans and all kind of creatures great and small.

There is much to walk, near the top of the volcano is the lagoon “Jilgueros”, its cold, clear waters are the result of rainfall and is characterized by the abundance of Goldfinches and Dantas (Tapir).
